Course Modalities

Credit Hour Definition

Before we get into the modalities, it's important to understand how credit hours works. Per New York State guidelines: a credit is granted for the "satisfactory completion of a course which requires at least 15 hours (of 50 minutes each) of instruction and at least 30 hours of supplementary assignments." Most courses at LIM College are 3 credits which amounts to about 45 hours of instruction and 90 hours of supplementary assignments (or homework). This applies to all classes regardless of length and modality.
