MyLIM

MyLIM portalThe MyLIM portal is the gateway to access everything you need to effectively teach at LIM College. This includes the Faculty Handbook, Canvas (for course materials/assignments, etc.), Office365 software, Sonis (for midterm/final grades; roster), and professional development opportunities.

The portal also houses a dynamic campus-wide events calendar as well as a calendar of professional development opportunities.

SONIS

SONIS is the official academic record for LIM, for all faculty and students. SONIS is where you will locate your course assignment, meeting time/location, and student roster. Faculty are required to input the following into Sonis:

  • Attendance: we are an attendance-taking school. Attendance must be posted for each week. Participation in discussion boards and/or submitting assignments counts towards the weekly attendance for fully online classe.
  • Grades: Faculty teaching 15-week courses are required to mid-term and final grades in Sonis. Weekly grades must be posted in Canvas.

Accessing Sonis

  1. Log into MyLIM.

  2. On the left-hand side, click on Sonis. It's located under LIM Top Applications.

LIM Email

All LIM faculty, students, and staff are assigned a college-managed Microsoft Outlook email account, which must be used for all official correspondence. Communication regarding grades, medical issues, absences, and other sensitive matters must occur only through LIM email or the Canvas Inbox (recommended). Faculty may not use personal email accounts (e.g., Gmail, Hotmail, AOL) for such correspondence, and assignments must not be accepted via email—all submissions must go through Canvas.

The College will communicate with you solely through your LIM email account. If you have been assigned to teach a course, please start checking your LIM email 3–4 weeks prior to the start of the semester or session to stay informed about important course publishing deadlines, class updates, or scheduling changes.

Technology and Tools

LIM College uses Canvas as its primary learning management system and the Microsoft 365 suite for its productivity tools. You can learn more about accessing and using these tools in the Teaching@LIM section of the website. Additional information is also provided on third-party tools we use to encourage student engagement and monitor student progress.
