    Students at LIM College have many options to study abroad at various times throughout the academic year. These include semester exchanges at more than 10 international locations, and short-term study abroad programs during the winter and summer sessions. Students may apply to any program or programs for which they are eligible.

    Plan ahead by securing your travel documents ahead of the application intake period. Passport should be valid for at least six months beyond the end date of the intended study abroad period.

    Consult with an academic advisor to ensure that you have available credits and have attained the minimum academic eligibility to participate in an international exchange.

  • Eligibility for semester exchange

    Some partner institutions will accept students in their second year of study, however most semester exchange students are in their junior year. Transfer students may be able to apply after completing one full semester at LIM College, however, they should first consult with an academic advisor. Applicants must:

    • Be in good academic standing;
    • Meet the minimum 3.0 GPA or higher as stipulated by the program;
    • Have a minimum of 12 available elective credits;
    • Have a valid passport;
    • Be in good financial standing.
  • Eligibility for short term programs

    Students can participate in a short term study abroad program after completing one full year of study at LIM College. Transfer students may be able to apply after completing one full semester at LIM College. All applicants must meet any prerequisites stipulated for the program to which they are applying. Applicants must also:

    • Be in good academic standing,
    • Meet the minimum GPA requirement for that program,
    • Have a valid passport,
    • Be in good financial standing.
  • Application review

    Several factors are considered when study abroad applications are being reviewed. Generally, the Office of Study Abroad reviews the following:

    • Academic records
    • Attendance records
    • Conduct records

    The requirements vary depending on the study abroad program or institution chosen by the applicant. Therefore, there is no guarantee of acceptance to any study abroad program.
