6th Annual Teaching & Learning Conference

This year's conference will take place on Friday, April 14 from 1:00pm-3:00pm on Zoom. We have two faculty presentations to start us off in the first hour and an OLI will present in the second hour. 

  1. Music, Memory, and Free Association presented by Professor Scott Wordman (Arts and Sciences
  2. Rethinking Post-pandemic Rigor in Higher Education presented by Professor Nachum Turetsky (Arts and Sciences).
  3. AI-Powered Learning: How ChatGPT and Other Tools are Changing Education presented by Chu Cheung and Deepa Rao-Sisario

Gamification is a unique learning theory based around using videogame development techniques to improve student engagement and learning. This course will explore how to use those techniques and gamify your course to provide a fresh new learning experience for your online and face to face classes!

Objectives:
By the end of the session, you should be able to:

Identify and implement various gamification strategies and concepts within your own classes.

Differentiate the differences between using gamification as a learning theory and as a tool.
