Welcome back, current members, and HELLLOOO to our new members! I'm so excited to serve as your faculty advisor this year and get to know you all. I met some wonderful new faces at the Student Org Fair! Thank you to those who shared their suggestions for activities this year. The top vote was: Queer Fashion Shows! Since it's fashion week, check out the column below for details on Dapper Q's Legacy fashion show.
Some other suggestions for activities were movie nights, shopping trips, and queer fashion history lessons. I'll do my best to do all of that and more this year. In the meantime, check out the columns below for an exploration of queer fashion and for queer events around the city.
I'm also looking for students to take on leadership roles. If that sounds like something you're interested in, please reach out!

dapperQ presents Legacy
Celebrate the 11th year of New York Fashion Week’s largest LGBTQIA+ fashion show, presented by queer style platform dapperQ. Start the evening with a happy hour and shop featured and local designers before the runway showcase.
Back in 2013, the Museum at FIT put on an exhibit entitled A Queer History of Fashion: From the Closet to the Catwalk. It covers decades of fashion history and still only touches the surface. While we wait for more showcases like this to come along, feel free to let this inspire you.
There are so many queer events around the city. My favorite way to keep track of them all is with Gay Agenda NYC. They have a monthly calendar of queer events in NYC. " Find your community, plan ahead, and never miss out. For every body and every story — femme, masc, fluid, chaotic, crushable."
