Faculty Development Workshops
During the first two weeks of August, the Office of Learning Innovation will be hosting several workshops and trainings designed to help you prepare for the academic year. We're focusing on Technology, Strategies, and Accessibility.
All sessions are virtual, free, and open to all faculty and staff.

TECHNOLOGY
- How can I make my Canvas content look better? We have a workshop for that! It does involve some HTML coding so be prepared. RSVP
- How do I teach with Zoom? We have a session that will show new/updated features and share ideas for teaching. RSVP
TEACHING STRATEGIES/PEDAGOGY
- How can I curb the use of AI-generated content? This session will focus on how the flipped classroom model can help. RSVP
- What does "teaching" looks like in a fully online class? Join us and we'll talk about key principles and provide examples of effective online teaching. (Hint: it's more than weekly grading.) RSVP
- How do I make grading easier and fair? In this session, we'll look at rubrics to help make grading faster and more objective. RSVP
- What are some simple assessments I can use to gauge student learning? In this session, we'll introduce you to several Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs) to help gauge learning. RSVP
ADA* COMPLIANCE/ACCESSIBILITY
- What do I do if a student needs an ADA accommodation? Come chat with Focrun Nahar, our Assistant Director of DEI& Accessibility. She'll tell about the process and share scenarios. RSVP
- How do I make my content accessible to everyone? In this session, we'll talk about how to properly format content to make it accessible to everyone in the audience. RSVP
