Good Morning!

I know we have some new faculty and some last minute changes to the schedule. If this is you - please email OLI@limcollege.edu with semester prep questions.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Online Teaching Essentials: If you are new to teaching in the fully online modality (no class meetings) or you've taught it but never had any formal training, I encourage to you attend this session. We'll talk about online teaching pedagogy, teacher presence, and strategies to engage online students.

Teaching with Zoom: If you are not familiar with Zoom functionality or you have never used it to teach, I encourage you to register for this session. We'll cover the basics and then talk about how to teach with the tool.

Getting to Know Accessibility Services:  You may have a student who needs a bit more attention -- hearing or visually impaired, extra time on exams, or other learning difficulties. So, what do you do? Join this session to learn more from Focrun Nahar, our Assistant Director of Accessbility Services.

OLI Faculty Office Hours: Got questions about new teaching technologies, assessments, engaging student online or anything else related to teaching? Chu and I are happy help. Office hours begin this week on Friday. Next week, we start holding them on Thursdays at 4:00pm and Fridays at 10:00am EST. Register and then drop-in when you are ready.

Can't make it to Office Hours? No problem. Email OLI to schedule a 1:1.

Cheers to the start of a strong semester!

Zoom is technically a meeting tool, not a teaching tool. Zoom has worked hard, during this pandemic to make it a teaching-friendly tool. The session will provide you with a tour of the Zoom features as well as demonstration of how to use the features for teaching.

Open to faculty and staff!

Join Focrun Nahar, LIM College's Assistant Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, as she reviews the process of registering for academic accommodations and best practices in implementing these accommodations.

She will also provide examples of various accommodations available to students and their associated implications.

Please come with your questions!
